Questions & Answers > 6S Meterbase for KYZ outputs to a relay

Does anyone know how to wire a 6s meter base for KYZ outputs to a relay. All i have ever done have the tail from the meter. Now i have an old ABB 6s with no tail. All the older guys have retired and i can't find any notes on how this can be done. I need to know how to wire the block to get the pulses to the relay. Thanks, Rick

Rick - The 6S meter has KYZ outputs on the 3 middle Terminals on the back side of the meter. Looking at the 7 terminals (these are sometimes called spades - they are the smaller terminals) as you face the meter, Y is center - K is directly Left and Z is directly Right, leaving 2 terminals on the outside left & right of these three.

The KYZ terminals on the meter socket itself have: K on the lower left hand side of the meter socket facing the socket and Y & Z are on the lower right hand side of the socket. From there you should be able to tie your KYZ leads or KY or KZ leads to those socket terminals. If you have any questions about that part of the wiring you should be able to ring those out with your ohm meter.

If you have any further questions, I'd be happy to talk with you about them. Give me a call or send me an email. (503)901-6132 or Metergod@live.com
