Questions & Answers > Form 7s

Has anyone had any experience with form 7s meters with a thermal demand? I am thinking about using a Marwell adaptor to convert our form 7s to form 6s for AMI implementation. Anyone have any advice?

Peetey,
For the conversion you are suggesting in your post I believe this is a great idea for removing a little known meter form from your metering system. The Form 7S meter is a variation of the Form 6S meter that uses a 7 terminal socket and creates a current return common connection inside of the meter. Installing an adapter base and wiring it for the Form 6S meter will allow you to remove a 7 terminal meter socket and any possible confusion related to a self-contained (7 terminal) meter socket also. Make sure to safely shunt the connected CTs before proceeding with this work.
I am not sure why your question included the thermal demand register on the 7S meter. If you have specific information you need concerning thermal demand registers please let me know.
